“The pen is mightier than the sword.”
Like most of my dad’s timeless advice, I learned this truth before I learned long division. Granted, times were much different back then since it’s become apparent that the new norm for children is to take standardized tests as early as your parents can afford a tutor. Anyway, for contextual purposes, I must’ve been in fourth grade or so.
While it’s been some time since I’ve done any sort of math by hand, I find these words — this quote — this truth — continuously prevalent in my own life and the world at large.
I don’t consider press-idential a blog (no shade to blogs!) and I certainly don’t anticipate this project to be the next Wall Street Journal or New York Times. Rather, this is me, sharing my thoughts and theories about current events. It’s meant to hold leaders around the world accountable for the hot mess they played a role in creating. Tragically, even the optimists sound less convincing that things will get better.
Whether the lived experience of being an American changes for the greater good or not, I’m here to stay so long as I have access to a pen, some paper, and perhaps my laptop to keep up with the digital version of this passion project.
Welcome to press-idential.
And big thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. You know who you are.
